An authentic country dining experience

We make no apologies about food being a main drawcard at Blue Gum Estate.

We have two sections to our restaurant: BARKE, catering for families and informal get togethers. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner; while our more formal option The Blue Gum Restaurant is open for dinner, and caters to adults only – both serve the same menu.

We also offer a room service menu from BARKE daily from 12h00 to 14h30


Breakfast is included in the daily rate and is served in BARKE. Should you wish to have tea and fresh scones in the afternoon, just let us know and we’ll arrange for it to be served in the lounge or delivered directly to your room. We also pride ourselves on our selection of local wines.

INTRODUCING OUR CHEF: Reagan van den Heyde

Reagan took a circuitous route to the kitchen, originally training as a waiter for Blue Gum Country Estate. He showed huge potential towards cooking and with some instruction from then head Chef Nicole Dupper (who worked with the likes of Franck Dangereux of La Colombe and Food Barn Fame) he became her sous chef for 2 years. 

Today, nearly 10 years later, he is an accomplished chef and he puts his passion and creativity into all meals prepared for our special guests. Reagan's commitment to using local produce and organic ingredients can be seen in the constant development of our seasonal menus, and in the creation of every dish from scratch in our kitchens.
